Autodoc

The medical computer employed on such commercial starships as the Nostromo in the 22nd century, especially useful in the absence of a qualified medical officer. Even when one was present, such as Ash, the AUTODOC served other purposes, such as an automated scanning and prognosis machine. The AUTODOC was surprisingly primitive for it’s bulky size. On the Nostromo, it failed to notice the gestating chestburster inside Kane.
