Derelict

The derelict ship was first encountered on the moon Acheron by the Starship Nostromo. It appears to have crashed on the planet, just beyond the Ilyium mountain range about 35-40km from the Hadley's Hope complex, centuries before it's discovery. It is unknown as to what exactly happened to the derelict. Some experts theorize the ship crashed, while others believe it simply landed on the planet and was unable to take off.

Design
The derelict ship has the appearance of a horse shoe, a U shape. The legs of the ship were most likely the engines, while the top of the U was the main section. The ship is very bio-mechanical in appearance, a trait it shares with the eggs it held within it's cargo hold.
The Pilot
Not much is known about the Pilot, or as he is commonly called Space Jockey. It is not even known if he is actually the Pilot of the Derelict. All that is known is that the Pilot occupies a chair in the center of a large chamber in the middle of the ship. Over nine feet long, the Pilot appears to have grown out of the chair he was found in.
Locations
Pilot's Chamber
Located in the main section of the ship, the pilot's chamber is a large area which holds the pilot's chair. Well over twenty five feet high, the mammoth chamber extends so high the roof can barely be seen. It shares some design asthetics of the Alien hives such as the almost bone patterns inlaid into the walls. This chamber may simply be the helm or the ships main control area but the presence of the console, whatever it was, indicates some sort of importance.
